Kaprow
In this article it talks about shifting art away from the specialized objects in the gallery and to the real urban environment; to the real body and mind. This article talks about Kaprow brushing his teeth. He notices that his mind is somewhere else when brushing his teeth and that a thousand signals that his body was sending him each minute were being ignored. I found it interesting that Kaprow suspected that 99% of his daily life was being routinized and unnoticed.  I also found it interesting that when he started to make himself aware of some of these signals he started to worry. He thought he should maybe go to the dentist because his gums were sort of bleeding. This is something he would have seen before he started focusing when he brushed his teeth and now he is worried about something he never really acknowledged because he is forcing himself to focus on what he see’s and does while brushing his teeth.
What I found problematic in this article was that it was boring. I was glad it was only four pages because it is boring to read about someone brushing their teeth. He says his mind was somewhere else while doing it. This is because brushing your teeth is boring and to read about it is boring as well.

In this reading I found it interesting that the artist was a tactile person. I found this interesting because I am also a tactile person. I like to learn hands on and Id rather watch a video about something than read about it or go to a museum and see the art rather than reading about the art and seeing pictures of it. I also had to teach myself a different way to learn just like he had to teach himself a different way to think.
I found it problematic that he threw everything out when he lost the studio. I think that he should have sold it and got money or kept some painting for sentimental reasons. I think it was disrespectful to just through away all the artwork.

I liked how this article was written. I found it very interesting when he was on the plane. I wanted to read to see what would happen. I also agreed with what he said about how the world looked after that experience. He said how you could really see the beauty in the world. I believe this to be true. Life is too short and I believe you should live everyday to the fullest!
If I had to say something was problematic in this story I would say the beginning of the article was problematic.  They are at a sushi restraint and they are eating avocado salad.  If you’re at a sushi restaurant they should be eating sushi! They should have ordered a dragon roll and some other specialty rolls. To think that your last meal could have been an avocado salad is very boring and is not living life to the fullest.
