Well I really liked this reading. I thought the way it was written, like how you could really get a feel for the writer’s personality, was neat. I also think his personality is pretty funny. I was trying to figure out what his job was and honestly I didn’t think the reading was all that interesting until I found out the picture of Jesus was made out of a whole bunch of nipples. I didn’t even read the title of this reading “NippleJesus” and I’m glad I didn’t because then the reading became a total surprise to me I didn’t see that coming. When Dave, the security guard, tries to stop the “vicar” from getting closer to the picture and asks him to stay where he is, where it's beautiful, that part made me think. All these people coming in and seeing Christ but then going closer to see the nipples and being disgusted are so pessimistic. Instead of trying to see the beauty in something people would rather see the ugly in them. If you really wanna see the bad/ugly in things my god you’re going to see it. Its not always pretty out there and if I was in the situation that “vicar” was in I would have stayed just where I was…. And see the beauty in it.

What I didn’t like about the reading I also liked. I was with Dave at the end I was mad at Martha and wanted her to having a meaningful reason behind why she made Jesus out of nipples. But at the same time I thought it was funny. How she didn’t even care all that much about the picture. She even says if someone were not to smash it she would have been stuck with a “NippleJesus”. And that she did it to get a reaction out of people. And in her mind that is what artist do. Over all I liked this article I even emailed it to my boyfriend to read with me. We laughed at all the different words he used like “nutter” and how much he cussed. You get an A+ for giving us a good reading!

Wear Are You?

This is a drawing I did with colored pencils and pencils. It is the drawing I talked about in my introduction. It is of a American flag on a hanger. The title of it is ….  Wear Are You?

Ono
In this article I found it engaging how someone who doesn’t actually draw or paint or use any tangible way of making art is an artist. The way she tells you what to do instead of showing you her art is making art but is also making the “viewer” an artist as well. I also found it interesting about how she has been threw so much and yet seems so calm and peaceful. For and example her child was kidnapped from her and yet when she gets her back in her life she doesn’t set rules or guide lines in her life.
In this article what I found engaging I also found problematic. Personally I don’t know how she doesn’t set any guide lines for her daughter who is finally back in her life. I do think children need guide lines. That’s why we have guardians to look after children because kids aren’t suppose to raise themselves. I also think the writer who states he/she thinks Ono is the ultimate feminist is wrong. Feminist fight for equal rights and they do care.

Micro project one

When taking the first ten pictures I didn’t really have to put that much thought into it. When taking the second set of pictures I actually had to look for certain things, which was different from the first time. It was the same in the way that I enjoyed taking pictures I had fun taking pictures the first time and I also had fun the second time. I found the first time more enjoyable because I didn’t have to worry if I was doing something right or not. The first time there were no rules or guidelines. All I had to do is take ten pictures. My favorite images are the one of my name around campus I thought it was pretty creative. I liked how the picture of the bridge on campus turned out and how it’s the bridge that connects south campus to west campus. I also liked my unstable picture of the broken tree.

In this article I found it interesting how Bartlett turn something ugly into 200 pieces of art. She gave up her apartment in New York City to move to Nice. She ended up being in the wrong part of town and also ended up with an ugly garden to look at. Instead of giving up and moving back to NYC she turned an ugly garden into art and made it beautiful.  This whole article talks about the big idea and in my opinion Bartlett turned something useless into a big idea to use in her artwork. I also found it interesting how one big idea was used for 200 different artworks.
I didn’t find anything to problematic in this article. If anything you could argue that in the last paragraph or two when it talks about Brice Marden, they quote Marden saying that he could paint one way for the rest of his life but that would be boring. Which is totally opposite of Bartlett. Or you could say they put that in this article to show how hard it was for Bartlett to do over 200 drawings of the same big idea. Just because she has drawn it a 100 times doesn’t mean it gets easier. If anything it gets harder because you want the next drawing to look better and say more than the last.

I this article I liked how they did this interpretation exercise with different age groups. I would it interesting that even child the age of three and four could point out denotation and connotation of their teddy bear. By having these students do this it also teaches them to think deeper into everyday objects. In my opinion it also teaches more of the younger children that we see things the way say maybe a company wants us to see them.
What I found problematic in this article is that the magazine cover was being over analyzed. When discussing there outfits and ultimately deciding that they are masters of sex and that if they want sex they will be in charge was over doing it.  They were appealing at a sexual angle but I would go as far as saying they are preparing for sex.
