In this short story I found a couple things interesting.  I found it interesting that Robert I think that’s what his name was. I kept getting confused on if the blind guys name was Robert or not because sometimes they would say the blind man and other times Robert. Anyway the husband who name I think is Robert. I found it interesting that he was so uncomfortable that a blind man was coming to stay with them. I really found it interesting when Robert wasn’t good at describing what a cathedral looked like. So the blind man had him draw it and held his had while he did so. I thought that was neat that the old man could try to visualize what a cathedral looked like from doing that. I also liked when he told Robert to close his eyes and Robert said he knew he was in his house but he couldn’t tell he was in it. I liked this because it was an easy read but I still liked nipple Jesus better.

In this short story I didn’t like that they referred to the old man as the blind man. I thought it was rude like he didn’t deserve a name.  I also thought it was sad that the old blind mans wife died. Also said that he never got to see what she looks like. When Robert said she never would get a complement like if she did her hair different one day or if she wore make up he never knew. I know that true love isn’t on the outside but on the inside. Although I can’t help but think how hard that would be to try and he would never know.

Wallace:

In this article or speech I don’t know what to call it. The speaker has a very good point about what you pick today as your job will in fact become your life and so if you want to love life and live it to the fullest you should pick something you love. My art teacher always said to me “Find something you love, make it your job, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” My art teach was right just like the speaker in this reading. If you pick something you don’t love you wont be living you will be stuck in a routine that you are to scared to get out of. I think its smart to talk to college students about this because many students pick there career depending on how much money they can make. This is not smart because you will wind up living life as a dead man. I have defiantly taken the advice of my art teacher and found something I love to do and now while in college pursuing my education towards what I love so that when I graduate I can make it my job.

       I would say I found anything problematic with this read. I really liked it and think that a lot of college and even high school students should read this before making a huge decision like “what you want to do for the rest of your life”. I know this two complete paragraphs but I wrote more in the first paragraph that could basically count for two. I really did like this read though!
