MP4 reworked!!

I have manipulated the everyday sound that I don’t notice when I am cooking or baking. Because I don’t notice them I have enhanced them by making them louder. I also speed them up to go with the beat of the music I have also manipulated. When I am in the kitchen I do not think of the sounds and other things that are going on around me. Instead I am totally and completely involved in what I am making! I want everything to come out perfect! Which is the complete opposite. I wish I were like the ladies in the black and white films that whatever they put into the oven came out looking and smelling delicious!  (Please also refer back to my MP4 statement to understand my piece better)

Final Statement

Free Your Campus!
Before starting project:
This whole semester I knew that our final would be pretty wide open so I tried brainstorming of things I could do for it. This whole school year I absolutely could not stand my roommates boyfriend. He was rude, ignorant and repulsive.  He would be at our apartment everyday. Everyday he would eat my food and lay on my couch in his underwear! I couldn’t stand it! So I thought, HEY! Why don’t I make an iMovie about this “monster” and have my roommate’s boyfriend star as the “monster”. Without him knowing I would catch him on camera and display his true nasty colors.  After thinking about it I didn’t like the idea anymore. I would have to spend more time looking at him, which I hated to do.  Then all of the sudden when it came time to pick my final project idea, the best thing happened! My roommate and her nasty boyfriend broke up! I would never have to see him again! But on the other hand I had no other ideas for my final project.
On Monday April 9, 2013 I sat in class trying to think of something to do. I sat there for an hour and then I reached in my backpack to get out an orange I had gotten for the Youkin Success Center early that day.  That’s where it hit me! My teacher from EDUPL 1259 kept telling my class that there is so many free things on campus that we need to take advantage of.  So I decided I was going to go around campus and see how much free things I could get.

During the project:
I thought that I would get a few things each day for my project and see how much I could get for it was due. That changed. I didn’t have time to go out everyday and walk around campus so I decided I would go out one day and see how many things I could get in one hour. I had my friend Maddie come with me to film some of the experiences. As we walked on to campus to my surprise it wasn’t that easy to find free things. The first thing I got was newspaper. Kinda boring. Then I noticed all the hand sanitizer suspensors. I tried five hand sanitizer suspensors till I found one that wasn’t empty. Then I decided we needed to go to buildings that provided a place to study and buildings where a lot of people go. While I was getting free stuff I didn’t feel like my project was going to end up the way I wanted it to. I was also kind of mad at my teacher because she made me think I was going to get a shit ton of stuff. Another thing I wanted to do was show the free things our campus offers but that aren’t tangible. For an example going to the Wexner Center, all the different museums, free tutoring and going to a psychologist. The reason why I didn’t do these things was because, 1. They are time consuming and 2. I didn’t really need them. There are people that really need a tutor or someone to talk to. So if I were to take that away from them just for a project I feel as if that would be selfish of me.
After an hour was up I didn’t feel like I had gotten that much free stuff. I probably got more weird looks from people than the amount of things I got. I got home laid out everything I got and then organized it. I counted everything and made a display. As I was editing my video clips I got a certain vibe. I wanted to create that vibe for the view as well. But then as I watched more clips I got a different vibe. That’s why I decided to speed some things up and have a certain sound playing in the background.
After Project:
As I have my video complete I would say that I am happy with it. I know your not suppose to picture how you want something to turn out but I did. It did not turn out the way I thought it would. I think it turned out better. Its fun to watch (I think) and it educates students about all the free things on campus that we don’t acknowledge. For example I love straws! A 50 pack of straws is around $2.00 I saved $2.00 from taking campus straws. This works for utensils as well. Every dollar counts when you’re a poor college student like me. Another big saver that no body likes to talk about are feminine products. By going to the psychology building ladies can save themselves around 7-8 dollars a month! That is $96 a year!

More brainstorming

Here is my idea. My teacher in my other class always talks about the free things on campus we need to take advantage of. FOr an example our tuition pays for all these thing things on campus that a lot of students dont know about. In the Youkin success Center there are always free fruit. So lately i have been taking 1-2 pieces of fruit each day im there.

So for my final project I am going to document how much free things I can get from school. I will visit buildings that give out free things and see how much i can get before the project is due.

Brainstorming.....for Final

I have no idea what the F**k to do........

Failure

My biggest failure this semester was my MP3 and also MP4. MP3 was my biggest failure because I did like what I carry with me every day. The pictures of stuff in my collage really don’t mean that much to me. Material items don’t mean that much to me. MP4 was only a failure to me because I really didn’t understand how to use garage band. I still don’t really understand how to use it. So that is why I only used it a little in MP4 and used more of my iMovie skills instead.  From my failure in MP3 I learn that you can only manipulate an image so much. I tried so hard to make it interesting that I failed. MP4 was a failure because I broke my foot and wasn’t in class that day we went over how to use garage band. So that is why I had to turn MP4 in late and didn’t really know how to use garage band. So I learn that you should not break your foot or miss class.
So far my biggest success was MP2 and MP4. MP2 I loved how my map to class turned out. When looking at it, it all really makes sense to me. I love how the colors and how everything flows I feel that it really tells a story. MP4 is a success because I didn’t rush it and just put something together so that it would be turned in on time but I actually did what I brainstormed. My idea for MP4 was time consuming but I love how it turned out and how it looks like a silent movie. I also love how whenever my family watches it they laugh! From these to success’s I learned that when you least expect it you could create something awesome.
If I had to redo something I would redo MP3. Instead of showing all the things I bring to class with me I would show my most important items I have and why I don’t bring them to class with me. I really did not like my MP3 and wish I would have went at a different angle with that project
